terribleThe wife goes for the day and sat in the lodge,[cant ski any more after a skiing accident that was almost an amputated leg]. The mountain now charges for parking,up front of course, the kid at the booth tells us they charge 10 bucks to park in a handicapped spot.I just cant believe that's legal, place isn't like it used to be when we started skiing there in the late 70's. |

A poorly-designed ski areaGore Mountain should be a better skiing experience than it is, but a poorly-designed approach to downhill skiing disappoints the advanced & intermediate skier. While the old gondola served the highest trail point on the mountain, its more-modern replacement goes only about 2/3 of the way up and to a different location, leaving the skier to find their way to a short-run lift to access the peak and the mountain's best skiing. Why? Once at the peak, the terrain requires a great deal of pole-pushing to get to the track that takes one to many of the more challenging trails and also to the trail that takes you back to the lower trails and base area of the mountain. Many flat and uphill spots along those trails leaves one fatigued from skiing the upper mountain, and you wonder whether it was even worth the effort. The lower trails aren't bad, but some off-season landscaping to develop slope in those flat areas would greatly improve the overall experience. |

GreatI love this mountain... I learned to ski on it, and never once did I get bored. Its got great steeps such as rumour and lies. Totally worth it if you have a family too. |
