Packs a lot into a small hill.

Ski Sundown has emerged as my local home mountain. At 25 minutes away, it's a great option for me at night, and to get my kids started with skiing on the weekends. There is a separate learning area for kids with a dedicated chairlift and magic carpet. Beginners and novices can find a lot of terrain off the summit including Tom's Treat. Intermediates will love Canyon Run. For advanced skiers, either ski the steepest run in CT, Gunbarrel or the seeded moguls on Nor'easter. The terrain park is really the place's bread and butter and they take it seriously. Huge park that has enough elements to keep the older kids amused. Again, the pack a lot into a small area. Check it out!

Best Mountain in CT

I love this Mountain, best trails with a decent amount of length. This is the most expensive mountain in CT and many people would prefer to save the $$ and go to Mohawk, but I find that Sundown maintains conditions better and Mohawk tends to get icy and doesn't have as many trails. Sundown has awesome beginner/intermediate trails that will keep you occupied for hours.

Impressive for CT

This is a very interesting mountain. Beginners will find a variety of trails to check out and intermediate skiiers or riders will notice a decent amount of trails as well. Advanced riders see some good trails as well... but not very lengthy. However considering its size there should be more than the 15 trails they have. They do a good job making a variety of difficulty. This mountain and Mohawk mountain are the two "premier" mountains in Connecticut. The difference is mohawk provides many more trails but sundown has a very nice terrain park for people who enjoy jumps and rails. Their terrain park is probably there nicest feature and is quite impressive. Over all, its a great place to ride once in a while.... you will find mohawk has many more trails (and is very close) but sundown has a nice variety of terrain....

-Obviously this is a review of the Connecticut and Massachusetts standards.
