Holiday Trip to Ski Apache and Ruisdoso Tops


When we arrived it had begun to snow on December 30th 2009. Next morning over a foot!
Skied every day. Excellent experience. Lots of people, but parked us easily. Rental shop busy but efficient. Food good. Slopes well groomed and most all of the lifts open. Skied with two children and they loved it also! On New Years Day, we could hear Indian drums playing while we were riding the El Capitan Chair. Thanks Ski Apache and Ruidoso.

Approaching greatness

With a few upgrades, this resort will take off. Ruidoso is a fun town and so is the resort.

Has potential

Located in a beautiful area, but beware. Due to lack of snow, we spent 3 days there @ $54/day skiing the same crappy runs because less than 50% of the place was even open. We bought a 3 day pass before realizing. They had their Gondola open to the top but only for sightseeing.You couldn't even ski down from it. What a joke. I couldn't believe it!!!
